Best time to visit

October to March is the season: cool days for the Rope Way, the hill-top stupa and the Glass Bridge, and warm water at the hot springs. April to June is very hot; July to September is the monsoon, when the hills turn green but outdoor sites can close.

Rajgir is a pilgrimage town for Buddhists, Jains and Hindus, so weekends and festival dates fill up early. Book ahead for December and January.
